Who runs this site
SkinSniper (skinsniper.com) compares CS2 skin prices across marketplaces. This page explains what data the site handles, what we use cookies for, and how to get your data removed. If something here is unclear, write to [email protected].
What we collect
Most of the site works without an account. You give us data when you sign in or use a feature that needs it.
- Account
- Signing in with Steam gives us your Steam ID and your public profile name and avatar. Your Steam password never reaches us.
- What you save
- Favourites, price alerts, loadouts, ratings and your site settings, tied to your account.
- Linked accounts
- If you connect Discord or Telegram, we store the account id needed to send you messages there.
- What you put into the tools
- Inspect links, Steam profile addresses and item data you paste into the inspector, trade-up calculator or loadout builder.
- Messages you send
- The content of the feedback you submit, including a screenshot if you attach one.
- Technical data
- IP address, browser and device type, language, and which pages you opened. This is standard server and analytics data.
Why we use it
- To run the site: keep you signed in, show prices in your currency, save your favourites and send the alerts you asked for.
- To see what works. Usage statistics show which pages and tools people use, and where the site breaks.
- To measure advertising. When we run a campaign, we check whether it brought real visits.
- To keep the service running: block abuse, limit scraping and meet legal obligations.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interest to run, secure and measure the site, on the contract with you where you have an account, and on your consent where the law requires it for optional cookies.
Who else sees the data
- Steam (Valve): signing in and reading a public inventory happen on their side, under their privacy policy.
- Analytics providers process usage data on our behalf, including session recordings and heatmaps.
- Advertising platforms receive the events needed to measure the campaigns we run, sent from your browser and from our server.
- Marketplaces: when you click through to one you leave our site and their rules apply. Some of those links are affiliate links.
We do not sell your data.
How long we keep it
Account data stays until you ask us to remove it. Server logs and analytics data are kept for a limited time and then dropped or aggregated. Anything you delete on the site, such as a favourite, an alert or a loadout, is removed from our database.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to its use for analytics and advertising, and withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Send the request to [email protected] and we will reply.
Extension and bots
The browser extension reads the item name on the page you are viewing and sends it to us to get a price. It has no analytics and needs no account. The Discord and Telegram bots store only the account id needed to answer you and send alerts.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when the site changes. The date at the top shows the last change.
