CS2 Bomb Damage Map

Season 5 replaced the old bomb sphere with a shockwave that travels through the map. Pick a map and a site, then hover any spot to see how far the wave travels, the damage you'd take and whether you'd survive.

Mirage · Site A

Damage by wave distance

Blast damage on Mirage · Site A by how far the wave has traveled. Dots mark the wave from 90% down to 10% intensity, and the vertical line is where you start to survive at your set HP. The scale above 100 damage is compressed, since past that you die even at full HP.

How bomb damage works since Season 5

Before Season 5, C4 damage was a simple sphere around the bomb: only straight-line distance mattered and the blast went through walls. The update replaced it with a shockwave that travels through the map itself. It runs along corridors, bends around corners and loses strength on the way, and a solid wall stops it completely.

Every official defusal map now carries a precomputed damage field for each bomb site, and that field is exactly what this page renders. Heat colors mark where the blast is lethal at your set HP, violet areas are survivable, and unshaded areas are out of the wave's path. The exact plant spot within the site doesn't change the field.

Before the explosion your health bar flashes red to preview the damage you'd take from where you stand. Armor doesn't help: kevlar and helmet make no difference to bomb damage. Right at the site the blast deals up to 255 damage and stays above 100 for most of the zone, so look for cover or distance.

Want to check the blast field in-game? On a local server, type cl_bake_bomb_damage_debug 1 for site A or cl_bake_bomb_damage_debug 2 for site B in the console, and the preview draws right on the ground, from the same data this page renders.

Bomb Damage FAQ

How is bomb damage calculated in CS2 now?
Since the Season 5 update (July 8, 2026) the explosion spreads as a shockwave from the bomb site through the map's geometry. Damage no longer depends on straight-line distance: the wave weakens around corners, walls block it, and the value at every spot comes from a field precomputed for each map.
Does armor reduce bomb damage?
No. The blast deals the same damage with and without kevlar and helmet, and it doesn't damage the armor itself either. Buy armor for the gunfight, it won't save you from the bomb.
How far do I have to be from the bomb to survive?
There is no single safe distance anymore, damage depends on the path the wave travels to reach you. Each site has its own power: damage stays above 100 for the first 33-77 m of wave travel (deadly even at full HP), then fades to zero over the last ~32 m. A solid wall between you and the site blocks the wave, so even a spot close to the bomb can be safe.
Does it matter which way you face?
A little. With your back to the bomb you can take a few HP less (about 1 to 5) than when looking straight at it. The difference only shows up where the blast is already weak, below roughly 100 damage; closer to the site the hit is identical. At the edge of the zone those few HP can decide whether you survive.
How accurate are the damage numbers?
The blast field comes straight from the data shipped with each map, so the shape and reach of the zone match the game. The damage number itself is approximate: expect the real hit to be within a few HP of the shown value.
Which maps does the tool cover?
All 11 defusal maps with blast data on the Season 5 patch: Mirage, Dust 2, Inferno, Cache, Nuke, Ancient, Ancient Night, Anubis, Overpass, Train and Vertigo.
